Zat kimia yang mengganggu kerja tiroid

Here’s the latest article on some chemicals that may react as toxins and affect thyroid function. The chemicals are perchlorates (found in fireworks, tap water), polychlorinated biphenyls (industrial chemicals), dioxins, phytoestrogens (in soy proteins), pesticides, polybrominated diphenyl ethers (found in furniture wadding foam and carpet padding), plastics materials like bisphenol A and phthalates, perfluorooctanoic acid (used to make Teflon, food wrappers), fluoride and chloride, mercury, lead, aluminium, triclosan.

Waduh, banyak banget zat kimia berbahaya utk tiroid.

What? Anakku sejak bayi hingga usia 7 tahun selalu minum susu formula berbahan soya soalnya dia alergi susu sapi. Yaaa berdoa aja deh anakku tetap sehat.

September: Thyroid Cancer Awareness Month

September is Thyroid Cancer Awareness Month. Did you know that Thyca is often referred to as the "good cancer?"

Well, there is no such thing as a "good cancer". Thyca is not "the good kind of cancer to have" just because it has high survival rates. It is still a cancer that requires treatment.

Just like its cousins hypothyroid and hyperthyroid, Thyca can be quite tricky because it often does not cause any symptoms, and when it does the obvious symptoms may be easily mistaken for something totally different.

I found essential information on what and how thyroid gland works here

Also found the following illustrations on Pinterest. One listing the common symptoms Thyca shares with hypo and hyper:

The other giving us a heads up on what to expect when dealing with Thyca:

Do a thyroid neck check. If your thyroid isn't working properly, neither are you.
